A Kenyan hospital is on the spot after a civilian recorded the unfortunate moment allegedly sluggish hospital attendants denied a mother in labor services.
The woman was deep in labor pain. She was brought in on a wheelchair to the emergency section of Shalom Community Hospital pleading for quick attendance.
The man was in the emergency section with his wife. He recorded the ordeal in shock.
“All the while, the three nurses on duties continued with their snacking in an adjacent room despite being informed of the emergence and the desperate calls for help from the civilians and the wailing patient.”
Upon witnessing this gross negligence, the man who recorded allegedly moved in with a few other civilian onlookers to try to transfer the expectant mother in distress to a bed.
As he narrated, “The expectant woman pleaded for help, and one of the nurses told her to get up on her feet and walk.”
He claims that after moving a few paces from the wheelchair, the expectant woman shouted in distress that she could feel the baby drop.
The baby allegedly dropped on the floor.
The hospital supervisor was away for the Easter holiday. Nonetheless, he and another nurse have since been arrested.
